How marketing teams plan a month of social content in one afternoon

Social content breaks down in predictable ways. Not because the work is easy — because the process is fragmented. Ideas in one doc, captions in another, images in a third tool, scheduling in a fourth, and approvals buried in email. By the time posts go live, half the calendar is outdated.

High-performing marketing teams batch the work: one planning session, one creation block, one review — then they schedule and move on. Content24 brings ideation, copy, visuals, and publishing prep into one flow so you can plan a month of social in a single afternoon.

Step 1: Define your content pillars

Before you write a single caption, lock three to five content pillars for the month — themes you'll return to repeatedly. Examples: product education, customer proof, behind-the-scenes, industry takes, and community highlights.

Pillars stop the "what should we post today?" panic. They also make AI outputs sharper: when every prompt references a pillar, AI Chat generates on-strategy ideas instead of generic filler.

Step 2: Build a 4-week skeleton

Open a simple grid: channels down the left (LinkedIn, Instagram, X — whatever you actually maintain), weeks across the top. Aim for a sustainable cadence, not maximum volume. Most B2B teams ship 3–5 posts per week on one primary channel and lighter support elsewhere.

  • Week 1 — anchor on your strongest pillar (often product or proof)
  • Week 2 — mix education + engagement (question posts, polls, hot takes)
  • Week 3 — campaign or launch content if you have one; otherwise thought leadership
  • Week 4 — recap, social proof, and softer community content

Step 3: Batch-generate captions and hooks

With pillars and slots defined, generate copy in batches. Feed AI Chat your brand voice doc, pillar definitions, and any upcoming launches. Ask for five variants per slot — hooks first, full captions second. Pick winners fast; don't polish in the generation step.

Use Fable when you want personality and scroll-stopping openers. Use GPT 5.5 when you need tight structure, character limits, or platform-specific formatting (LinkedIn line breaks, hashtag discipline, etc.).

Step 4: Create visuals in the same session

Switch to AI Images while context is fresh. Generate carousel backgrounds, quote cards, and product feature graphics from the same messaging you just approved. Store everything in a shared project folder on AI Team so designers and strategists aren't versioning files over email.

Short-form video? Pull one or two top posts into AI Video scripts and produce vertical cuts for Reels or LinkedIn video — same story, different format.

Step 5: Connect to your publishing workflow

AI Social helps you plan, draft, and prepare posts without leaving Content24. Even if you schedule in another tool, keeping ideation and asset creation in one workspace means exports are final — not "draft v3_final_use_this" files scattered across drives.

For always-on programs, save your monthly planning sequence as a workflow pipeline. Swap pillar emphasis each month; keep the steps identical.

What a realistic afternoon looks like

  1. 30 min — pillars, cadence, and empty calendar grid
  2. 60 min — batch captions and hooks in AI Chat
  3. 45 min — visuals for top 8–10 posts in AI Images
  4. 30 min — team review and approval
  5. 15 min — export and schedule (or hand off to publishing)

That's roughly three hours of focused work for a month of direction — not a month of daily scrambling.

Keep the calendar alive

Planning once doesn't mean rigid execution. Leave two slots per month open for timely reactions — product news, industry moments, customer wins. The pillars handle the backbone; open slots handle the unexpected.
