Artlist

Artlist is the subscription a lot of editors already have open in another tab. You search a mood, download a track, and drop it under a cut. The catalog is still the reason most people pay. The AI tools came later, and they are not on every plan.

The library

Music and sound effects are the core. Bigger plans add footage (they go up to 8K, and a RAW and LOG upgrade exists), templates, LUTs, and plugins. Stems are part of the music plans, which matters when a client likes the guitar and hates the drums. There is a Premiere Pro panel, so you can search and pull assets without leaving the timeline.

The checkouts are split on purpose. A music plan is not a footage plan. A footage plan does not include the AI tools. Max is the bundle: music, effects, footage, templates, and the generative extras. If someone on the team says "we have Artlist," ask which plan. It changes what you are allowed to download.

The AI layer

On Max, and on music plans that buy an AI credit add on, you also get voiceover, generated music, images, and video, plus Artlist Studio, which is their shot builder. Credits are shared across those tools and they reset each month. Unused credits do not carry over. Their help pages spell out rough monthly ceilings per tier, things like how many voiceover hours or music tracks a credit pile might cover. Those ceilings move. Read the tier you are about to buy.

The license, in plain words

Artlist's own help center says the license does not cover standalone audio. A radio ad, or a track uploaded to Spotify as a song, is the example they give. Music under a video is the normal case the subscription was built for. If you want the track to live on its own, stop and read the license before you upload it anywhere.

Where it sits in a week of work

Artlist is excellent at the bed under a film you already shot or already generated. It is a catalog with a clear commercial story, which is why producers trust it. It does not write the offer or keep your brand type in one place. If that second half is the gap, the note in Artlist and a marketing workspace is the longer version.
