OpenArt lives at openart.ai. It is a studio in the browser. You do not install anything. You pick a tool, describe the shot, and spend credits. One balance covers images, video, and audio.
Who built it
OpenArt started in San Francisco in 2022. The founders are Coco Mao and John Qiao, both previously at Google. In January 2026 the company said it had raised a 30 million dollar Series A led by Canaan, which they put at 35 million dollars raised in total. Those figures are from OpenArt's own materials.
What you can make
Images and short video are the daily use. Their site names partner models including Veo, Seedance, Kling, and Sora for video, and GPT Image, Nano Banana, and Seedream for stills. You generate, then edit on the same canvas: erase, extend, swap a background, restyle, upscale. A saved Character is how they try to keep a face consistent. You tag it in the next prompt instead of describing the person from scratch.
Worlds turns a prompt, or up to four pictures, into a space you can move through. They say that part runs on World Labs, and that you can export it for tools like Blender. Director mode is a chat that plans a longer piece, scene by scene, with a timeline when you want to be fussy. Audio covers voice in a long list of languages, music, and lip sync.
New accounts get a small free credit grant, currently described as 40 credits over seven days, with no card. After that it is a subscription. The credit cost shows before you generate, which is the only honest way to run a model shelf this wide.
Ownership
OpenArt says you own what you make and can use it in ads, social, and client work without royalties or a credit line. I would still read the current terms. Partner models change their rules, and a line on a homepage is not the contract.
What it is for
It is a generation studio with a lot of models and a memory for characters. A team that also has to write the offer, hold a brand kit, and ship the post still has work outside that canvas. The longer comparison is in OpenArt for campaign work and in Content24, Higgsfield, and OpenArt.
